In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the spirit of Document No. 2 of the New National Development, and fulfill the deployment requirements of the Provincial Open Economic Development Conference, the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce and Guizhou University of Commerce have actively carried out cooperation between the department and the university and jointly created a new model of co-construction by the government and academia across the country. With the approval of the Editorial Office of the Provincial Party Committee, the School of Inland Open Economy of Guizhou University of Commerce has been established.
Currently, the school has four undergraduate majors of International Business, International Economics and Trade, Trade Economics, and Business English. There are a total of 33 faculty members, including 5 professors, 10 associate professors, 14 doctoral degrees, 2 doctoral candidates, 1 "Academic Pioneer" title in Guizhou Province, and 12 double-qualified teachers. There are nearly 900 students currently enrolled.
The school is equipped with modern teaching facilities. The Intelligent Cloud Economics Laboratory has been completed and put into use, and 13 off-campus practical teaching bases have been established.
In the past three years, the teachers in the school have actively undertaken scientific research projects, published papers in important journals, and published monographs and textbooks. Three research reports have received affirmative instructions from provincial and ministerial leaders.
The college adheres to the school motto of “Shaping Character with Faith, Establishing a Person with Utility”, implements the fundamental task of establishing moral character, oriented to the local economic and social development, cultivates high-quality applied talents who are oriented to the modern service industry and commercial digitization, closely follow the commercial changes, closely follow the industrial needs, have solid professional foundation and strong practical ability, and possess business mind, creative energy, spirit of commitment, practical work and style of work. It will provide intellectual support and talent support for the construction of a new highland of inland open economy in our province by cultivating high-quality applied talents with business acumen, creative vigor, commitment spirit and practical work style.

Oriented towards docking with the local economic and social development, it aims to cultivate high-quality applied talents with solid professional foundations, strong practical abilities, business acumen, creative vitality, a sense of responsibility, and a down-to-earth work style, who are oriented towards the modern service industry and the digitalization of commerce, closely following commercial changes and industry demands, so as to provide intellectual support and talent backup for building a new highland of inland open economy in our province.
