On November 4th, the second round of Reading, Writing and Translation Competition of 2023 "FLTRP · ETIC Cup" and "Understanding Contemporary China" National Foreign Language Competition for College Students was held online by Beijing Foreign Studies University and hosted by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. The second round of Speech Competition of Guizhou division was held in Yanwu Street Campus of Guizhou Medical University on November 5th. A total of 10 students from GZUC participated in each competition.
After fierce competition, Zhang Man from the School of Accounting won the first prize in the reading competition and entered the national competition, achieving a breakthrough of zero competitor in the national competition for GZUC. Meanwhile, Chen Cancan from the School of Accounting won the third prize in the reading contest, Yu Daifang from the School of Management won the third prize in the writing contest, and Deng Tingyun from the Computer and Information Engineering College won the third prize in the speech contest.
Since 2023, the "FLTRP · ETIC Cup" National English Speech, Writing and Reading Competition has officially changed its name to "FLTRP · ETIC Cup" and "Understanding Contemporary China" National Foreign Language Competition for College Students, with more competition languages, more courses and more diversified forms. This competition is a national ranking competition for college students. The Department of Foreign Languages (School of International Education) attached great importance to the organization and guidance of the competition. In July this year, the work plan was formulated, the competition organization and guidance team was formed, and the preliminary competition of all kinds was conducted from the end of September to the middle of October, and the selection of provincial competitors was completed and guidance was carried out in an orderly manner. The competition was actively organized and carefully guided by our teachers, and our students showed an energetic style and achieved excellent results. The university will summarize the achievements and shortcomings of this competition, continue to do a great job in the publicity and organization of the competition next year, and strive to achieve better results.
