On November 9, 2023, Professor Gustavo Alejandro Girado, Argentine economist, winner of the 14th Chinese Book Special Award and Counselor of the Argentine Embassy in China, gave an academic lecture in the Lecture Hall of the Hubin Convention Center. The lecture was presided over by Wen Daqiang, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of GZUC.

Entitled “Trade and Investment Relations between Latin America and China”, Professor Girado focused on the development of world economies and economic institutional frameworks, especially China's rise as an emerging world economy, as well as import and export trade relations and investment between China and Latin American countries. The lecture was rich in content and vivid in presentation, which provided valuable learning and thinking opportunities for our teachers and students, and gave them a deeper and intuitive understanding of the current situation, challenges and opportunities of trade and investment between Latin America and China.

Wen Daqiang gave a brief summary after the lecture and he stressed that Sino-foreign trade and investment relations are an evolving field, and we must pay close attention to global and domestic changes to better adapt to the ever-changing economic society. He also pointed out that Sino-foreign trade and investment relations are complex and require joint efforts of all parties to solve the problems and challenges, and as teachers and students of GZUC, we must have a deeper understanding of Sino-foreign trade and investment relations in order to cope with the challenges in the field of international business. GZUC will continue to provide teachers and students with in-depth research and practice opportunities so that they can strengthen the study of multilingual culture and different cultural differences, and better cope with the challenging future.
