In the first semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS), appointed teachers to GZUC to give lectures. In order to further improve the quality of teaching and strengthen the exchange and cooperation between Chinese and foreign teachers, GZUC held a symposium on Sino-foreign cooperative education program in Conference Room 514, Siqi Building on the afternoon of October 17, 2023. Wen Daqiang, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of GZUC, attended the meeting. The people participating in the meeting were Janene Gaye Wardrop, David Jonathan Addison and Ali Shahzad from ICMS, the Department of Teachers Affairs, the Office of Scientific Research, leaders from the Academic Affairs Office, the Chinese cooperative teachers, leaders of the School of International Education, teachers of the Teaching and Research Office of Exhibition Economy and Management of the College of Tourism Management and some teachers' representatives. The meeting was presided over by Han Jun, the Dean of the School of International Education.
At the meeting, Wang Yang, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, introduced the work arrangement of foreign teachers in this semester, and introduced the relevant work in detail from the aspects of registered students, the commencement of classes, the security of office and teaching areas, and the cooperative teachers.
Three foreign teachers spoke separately on the teaching situation in GZUC. They shared their experience and feelings based on their own teaching situation, and thanked the Chinese cooperative teachers for their assistance. They believed that the teaching in Guizhou is not only a teaching cooperation and exchange, but also a perfect cultural experience.
Chinese and foreign teachers exchanged and discussed how to improve teaching quality, optimize student training objectives, foster professional teachers, and realize resource sharing.
In the end, Wen Daqiang, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of GZUC, once again expressed his sincere thanks to foreign teachers for coming here for teaching. He pointed out that the arrival of foreign teachers brought face-to-face teaching in this semester, which is a good start for the two sides to get on the right track after overcoming the difficulties of the epidemic, which is also a new learning experience for students after long-term online learning and an important opportunity for the two sides to enhance exchanges and communication. He hoped that the teachers of both sides can cooperate sincerely for common development and continue to strengthen management and refine services. At the same time, it is hoped that the cooperation between the two sides can further promote cultural exchanges between China and the west.
The symposium has built a bridge of communication between Chinese and foreign teachers, which further guaranteed the teaching quality of Sion-foreign cooperative education courses and pointed out the direction for further promoting the personnel training of Sion-foreign cooperative education program and the related work of Sion-foreign cooperative education program of GZUC in the future.
