On September 27, the evening gala of GZUC was grandly held at the National Flag Square to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day. Leaders from Baiyun District, Lyu Guofu, Party Secretary of GZUC, Luo Bing, President of GZUC, members of the Party Committee of GZUC, and more than 6000 students gathered together to share a visual and auditory feast.
The evening gala, themed “Energetically Embarking on a New Journey, Uniting Hearts and Efforts to Set Sail Again,” commenced with the orchestra playing “My Chinese Heart.” The program included a variety of performances: the drama “Glimmer,” choruses “Sing a Song for the Party” and “Beat the Wooden Drum”, poetry recitation “Set Sail, Guizhou University of Commerce,” modern dance “Winning the Future with Wisdom,” ethnic costume catwalk “The Charm of Gui,” the song “Me and My Motherland” and so on, all of which were spectacularly presented.
In his speech, Lyu Guofu, on behalf of the Party Committee of GZUC, extended greetings and good wishes to the guests, teachers, and students. Mr. Lyu pointed out that the university successfully passed the 2021 undergraduate teaching qualification assessment by the Ministry of Education, marking a new leap in the quality of talent training and the level of education, a milestone in the university's development history. These achievements are the result of the correct leadership of the Party Committee of Guizhou Province and Guizhou Provincial People’s Government, the strong leadership of the Party Committee of GZUC, and the hard work, unity, and joint efforts of all staff and students. They are also the result of the long-term concern, guidance, support, and assistance of party committees, governments at all levels, and all sectors of society for the development of various undertakings of the university.
Lyu Guofu emphasized that the past is just a prelude. Great challenges lie on the long road, but now we start anew with determined steps. The teaching assessment is a phase of work, but high-quality development is the university's eternal pursuit. Construction requires long-term struggle, and reform requires continuous effort. The whole university should take the assessment as a new starting point, seriously summarize experiences, seize opportunities, and develops sustainably. Leaders at all levels must genuinely transform their work style, guided by new situations, tasks, and issues, further enhance the initiative and proactivity in their work, establish the confidence and courage to “fight and win decisively,” and take a “firm and determined” attitude and vigor, marching towards the goal of high-quality development.
The evening gala came to an end amidst applause and cheers.
